Oh Boy, and this is how not to do it, but I guess we have all experienced this at one time (or more??) in our trading careers.

Hello Traders,
My friends Stuart and Rich, who are specialised in business consultancy and training (check out their website www.makeitbigtraining.com) have made this really great little video presentation talking about 5 different situations that I am sure we all have found ourselves in at some time in our life. These very useful different perspectives on for sure challenging situations are also very applicable when you find yourself in a trading slump…

Steve Ward on “Self Awareness through Mindfulness” in Trading during the FXstreet International Traders Conference (ITS) in Barcelona:
Obviously I had heard about mindfulness but never in the context of trading. When Steve introduced me to the concept and the benefits in trading pretty much at the beginning of our coaching journey, I wasn’t too crazy about it.. okay, I have to admit – I hated it!!! I really struggled with the concept, it made me aggressive as my mind was like an unruly child going here and there just not finding the stillness. Poor Steve, I think I complained a lot about it (very unenlightened .. oops). But you see he has developed this step by step approach to tame unruly trader minds gently getting into the habit and how to make the most of the experience.
After only 3 months of really getting over myself and sticking with it no matter what and most importantly just trusting in the process (and my coach), I have become pretty good at it and I must say I today I totally love mindfulness ..don’t want to live without it anymore.. seriously.. it has made a massive impact not only on my trading performance and experience but also overall on my whole life.
Well, I hope you enjoy this little youtube clip
That’s why so many of us teach meditation. Because when you stop thought, you stop resistant thought. When you stop resistant thought, then you let it in. That’s why we teach appreciation, because when you’re in appreciation, you are not in the mode of resistance, and you are letting it in.

A Hindu saint who was visiting the river Ganges to have a bath found a group of family members on the banks, shouting at each other. He turned to his disciples, smiled and asked, ‘Why do people shout at each other?’
The disciples thought for a while, one of them said, ‘Because we lose our calm, we shout.’
‘But, why should you shout when the other person is just next to you? You can as well tell him what you have to say in a soft manner,’ said the saint.
The disciples gave some other answers but none satisfied the other disciples.
Finally the saint explained.
‘When two people are angry at each other, their hearts are very distant. To cover that distance they must shout to be able to hear each other. The angrier they are, the stronger they will have to shout to hear each other to cover that great distance. What happens when two people fall in love? They don’t shout at each other but talk softly, because their hearts are very close. The distance between them is either non-existent or very small…’
The saint continued, ‘When they love each other even more, what happens? They do not speak, only whisper and they get even closer to each other in their love. Finally they even need not whisper, they only look at each other, that’s all. That is how close two people are when they love each other.’
